Robot or chair

Same search. Two different machines.

Search engines mix massage robots up with massage chairs. They are different products for different jobs. Here is how to tell them apart before you buy.

Massage chairsSeat + rollers

Fixed rollers and airbags inside a seat. Fine for a short seated session, but they cannot reach or adapt to each body the way hands do.

Massage robot in a hotel wellness suite at night
For hotels & resorts

Massage at midnight, no night shift.

Guests want wellness on their schedule, not the spa’s. A massage robot runs early, late and on weekends without overnight staff, in a room the size of a treatment room.

FAQ

The questions that come up first.

More in the full FAQ →

How much does a massage robot cost?

Entry massage robot systems run about $13,000–23,000, mid-range commercial robots around $60,000, and flagship systems $125,000–150,000. Our dual-arm Superhuman Touch T1 is $64,900 with installation and training included. The full cost guide breaks down each tier.

Is a massage robot the same as a massage chair?

No. A massage chair uses fixed rollers and airbags inside a seat. A massage robot uses articulated arms that scan the body and work it like hands, on a full massage table. See massage robot vs massage chair.

How long until a robot pays for itself?

Robot massage sessions at locations commonly sell from $60 and up. Your payback depends on price, bookings and the staff hours you no longer need to cover. Plug your own numbers into the calculator above.

Is robotic massage safe?

Commercial massage robots use force limits, collision detection and a stop button within the guest’s reach. Guests with certain health conditions should check with a physician first. See massage robot safety.

What power and room do I need?

The T1 needs a dedicated 120 V or 240 V, 20 A circuit and a private room of about 3.0 × 2.6 m. We check your floor plan before you order.

Can I finance a massage robot?

Yes. Equipment financing is available on the T1, from about $1,350 a month, and you own the robot at the end. For US buyers, Section 179 may help. See financing.
